dhf and NSI secure their places in the ‘Pavilion of Trade Bodies’ at Lockex 2018
Find your perfect ‘body’ at Lockex 2018… Don’t worry this isn’t another New Year diet plan or post-Christmas workout challenge!
Lockex 2018 – Security & Fire Safety – brought to you by The Locksmith Journal – has a brand new look this year following on from the inaugural show in September 2016. Broadening its horizons to showcase not just locksmith and auto-locksmith trade stands, experts and workshops, this June’s expo will also have some of the world’s finest names from security and fire safety, turning Coventry’s Ricoh Arena into a three-day one-stop-shop for building specifiers, architects, planners, and designers.

On top of this, the new-to-2018 ‘Pavilion of Trade Bodies’ will provide visitors and exhibitors alike invaluable face time with representatives from leading organisations across the locksmith, auto-locksmith, security and fire safety industries. As the New Year begins, two new such organisations have secured their places in the ‘Pavilion’; the Door and Hardware Federation (dhf) and the National Security Inspectorate (NSI).
Founded over 120 years ago, the dhf is a non-profit association that – in its own words – has become “the go-to place for technical advice and training”, which in turn “lends itself to raising the standards of the industry”. With more than 400 members across doors, shutters, gates, garage doors and hardware, for both residential and industrial projects; the dhf connects external consultants and experts with its own members, plus provides end users with an entry way into the industry via trusted and professional tradesmen and women. For many consumers, the dhf is the first port of call before selecting the company they want to work on their home or business.
The NSI is the UK’s “leading certification body for the security and fire protection sectors in the UK”. Born from the merger of two other associations (NSCIA: National Supervisory Council for Intruder Alarms / NACOSS: National Approved Council for Security Systems), the NSI has almost 50 years experience of helping to protect businesses and homeowners through high quality auditing of fire safety and security providers. Also a not-for-profit organisation, NSI-approved contractors have worked with some of the most demanding clients in the country including the Police, Fire & Rescue, and leading insurance companies. More recently the NSI has extended its reach to Facilities Management via a successful application to the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS).
It’s safe to say that for anyone visiting Lockex 2018, the 72-square metre ‘Pavilion of Trade Bodies’ is a not-to-be-missed opportunity. With organisations such as the Guild of Architectural Ironmongers (GAI), Institute of Architectural Ironmongers (IAI), Security System and Alarm Inspection Board (SSAIB), Fire Door Inspection Scheme (FDIS) and UK Construction Week already signed up, notable names from all regions will be on hand to discuss the latest certifications across the board, plus there will be CPD points on offer and exclusive expert revision sessions and master-classes for visitors about to sit their summer exams.
All of this plus a reimagined workshop space right in the heart of the Ricoh Arena, with eight demo zones, the official key-note speaker Neil Vann, and more. This still comes part and parcel with your all-inclusive entrance tickets that gets you free parking, free meal tickets and as many free workshops – across any field – that you can fit into your schedule.
